Ligue 1 news

Montpellier have to battle through Belhanda ban.

Younes Belhanda scored the only goal as Montpellier won 1-0 away to Evian-Thonon-Gaillard last weekend and is his side's leading scorer with eight Ligue 1 goals and ten in all competitions. However, the Moroccan, voted Ligue 1's young player of last season, serves a one-match ban against Rennes, and joins fellow creator Rémy Cabella, who has a thigh injury, on the sidelines. His absence is a big blow to René Girard's side, but the Montpellier coach believes they can cope without the duo.
