Serie A news

El Shaarawy plans Milan stay.

Stephan El Shaarawy wants to remain at Milan for the rest of his playing career amid reported interest from other sides.
The Italy international, contracted to Milan until 2018, has reportedly courted interest from Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.
But on Monday Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani insisted that the club have no intention of selling one of their prize assets.
"I am feeling very good at Milan and I hope to stay here for the rest of my life," El Shaarawy told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I heard what Galliani said about me and it pleases me that the club do not want to sell me."
Galliani confirmed the seven-time European champions had not received any offers for the players.

Roma reject Marquinhos reports.

Roma have released a statement which conflicts with reports they are in talks with in-demand defender Marquinhos over a new contract.
The 18-year-old Brazilian has displayed maturity beyond his years by establishing himself as a regular for Roma this season, making 26 appearances since switching from Corinthians.
Consequently, rumours of Barcelona interest in the youngster were rife, as were reports that Roma were in the process of tying him to a new, long-term deal.
But the Italian giants took the unusual step of issuing a statement about a player's contract in a bid to stop the speculation.
